Introduction

FOQSCO is the authorized agent of Concrete Canvas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Concrete Canvas (CC) products are part of a revolutionary class of new, innovative materials called Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mats (GCCMs). CC is a flexible, concrete filled geosynthetic which provides a thin and durable concrete layer when hydrated. Typically, 10-times faster to install than conventional concrete solutions. With no need for plant or mixing equipment, CC can be installed without specialist training; simply unroll, secure and add water.

Concrete Canvas

Concrete Canvas® is used for a wide range of erosion control and weed suppression applications. It allows concrete construction with minimal plant and specialist training. CC consists of a 3-dimensional fiber matrix containing a specially formulated dry cementitious mix. A PVC backing ensures the CC is completely waterproof. CC can be hydrated by spraying or full immersion in fresh or salt water. Once set, the fibers reinforce the cementitious mix, preventing crack propagation and providing a safe plastic failure mode. As a result, CC provides a thin, durable, waterproof and lower carbon alternative to traditional concrete.CC is available in 3 thicknesses: CCT1™, CCT2™ and CCT3™ (upgraded from CC5, CC8 and CC13 as per ASTM D8364 Standard).

Concrete Canvas Hydro

CC Hydro™ is the world’s first all-in-one armored impermeable liner for a wide range of containment applications, such as bund lining, lagoon lining, tank wall remediation and tank base lining. CC Hydro™ removes the need for protective top cover, dramatically reducing installation times and simplifying logistics. CC Hydro™ (CCH) combines the concrete filled geotextile technology of Concrete Canvas® with a highly impermeable, chemically resistant geomembrane liner. The liner incorporates a hi-visibility welding strip which allows joints to be thermally welded with a double-track or triple-track air channel for on-site testing. The product was specifically developed for applications within the Petrochemical and Oil & Gas industries. CCH is available in 5mm and 8mm thicknesses: CCHT1™ and CCHT2™ respectively (upgraded from CCH5 and CCH8 as per ASTM D8364 Standard).

Common Applications of Concrete Canvas

Channel Lining

When in need of a solution for channel lining and ditch lining, engineers and contractors worldwide are increasingly turning to Concrete Canvas® (CC). With installation times typically 10-times faster than traditional methods, CC can be installed at rates of up to 400m²/hour.

Slope Protection

A common use for Concrete Canvas® (CC) is slope protection. With no requirement for heavy plant, CC can be installed on limited access sites, a significant advantage over traditional poured or sprayed concrete. Batched rolls of CC allow for manual transportation on site, while bulk rolls can be deployed from a slope's crest for safer installation.

Bund Lining

Providing effective bund lining and containment solutions, Concrete Canvas® (CC) and CC Hydro™ (CCH) have been specified around petrochemical, oil & gas and other utilities sites. While offering a higher level of impermeability for containment applications, CCH provides the same inherent erosion control as CC.

Remediation

Concrete Canvas® and CC Hydro™ provide concrete repair, concrete resurfacing and concrete remediation. CC's flexibility and ease of install allow for rapid refurbishment of existing infrastructure.

Lagoon Lining

As a lagoon lining and bank protection solution, Concrete Canvas ® (CC) has key benefits compared to other solutions. For this reason, CC has been utilized all over the world for projects of varying sizes and in areas where environmental requirements meant traditional concrete was not an option.

Gabion Protection

Gabion protection and gabion erosion control are areas where Concrete Canvas® (CC) can be used to rapidly repair any damage and provide long-term protection to gabion walls. CC can also be used to upgrade or increase the operational life of a gabion structure.

Latest Concrete Canvas Projects

Earlier this year we installed Concrete Canvas for a slope protection application at Ma'aden Aluminum RSA Cell III.

In this beautiful application we used used Concrete Canvas for slope protection of a small hill in Al Bahah region.

When time is critical, Concrete Canvas gets the job done in the shortest amount of time and smallest logistical foot print.
